Powder Coating is finely divided particles of organic polymer that generally contain pigments [color], fillers and additives.
Powder coatings are applied electrostaticly to a substrate and fused [melted] into a continuous film by the application of
radiant energy or heat in a curing oven at temperature ranges from 300 to 450 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.
Powder
coatings come in a variety of functional and decorative finishes with a wide range of gloss. Given the proper pretreatment
of the substrate and curing of powder, the finish will exhibit good film appearance with excellence mechanical and outdoor
exposure qualities. Other typical physical characteristics of thermo set powder coatings consist of offering excellent impact
and corrosion resistance.
Below are the types of powder coatings for a review of their various application requirements.
