We build the BERTHA HV and HD system of Accordion Shutters. The benefits of the BERTHA HV and HD are as follows:
Improved fit and appearance. The BERTHA HV and HD allows you to fit every common window size without waste or extra materials. The appearance is improved by the consistency of the correlation between the standard window openings and the shutters. Each and every standard window opening will have the same uniform appearance. This is a very critical issue to the homeowner. This will reduce wasted materials per unit as much as 5-10%.
Improved Stacking. The BERTHA HV stacks in about 30% less space than most systems and utilizes a lower profile center mate.
Fastest Installation Time. The BERTHA HV utilizes a direct mounting system for side closures; this eliminates side angles all together. No fasteners to the building and no fasteners connecting the starter strip to the angle. The installation does not require locking rods or locking rod holes to be drilled. You would simply install the header and sill, insert and connect the accordion stacks and you’re finished. The accordion installation time would be comparable to installing storm panels.
Operation. The operation process is time efficient for a fast preparation for any last minute storm arrival. They are suitable for any elderly person who may have to operate the system by themselves. The system is operable from inside or outside. Approximate time for close and open is 2-3 minutes per opening with 1 person.
Improved Tolerances. The BERTHA HV has a larger hinge point or knuckle to allow for increased tolerances between the components. This will increase the speed of assembling the product and reduce the number of damaged or rejected components. Less rejected components means less wasted time in the assemble process as well as less material returned to the supplier.
Increased Strength. The combination of deeper corrugation, larger hinge points and pin diameter dramatically increases the overall strength of the system. That has allowed us to decrease the amount of material or weight per square foot and still maintain equal or increased strength throughout the system.
Increased Performance. The increased levels of performance will allow you to install taller Accordion shutters, or install accordion shutters in areas of the building that demand higher pressures. You can now install shutters in situations that you may have had to install a stronger, more expensive system. During testing our tallest specimens had a blade span of 192", for a finished shutter height of 16"-3"!
Universal Components. Universal components means that as materials are cut and fabricated, drop-off from many of the components from on job, can be used for others regardless of which application you are going to use next. Example, drop-off from tracks, centers and starter strips from a mid-rise job, can be used on a residential or high-rise job, visa-versa or any combination.

Finished sizes are the actual size the shutter will need to be including the room for hinges and overlap to tie down to wall. Please see measuring guide. Each shutter is built and Powder Coated in our factory. There are 11 standard colors to choose from: White, Black, Ivory, Sandlewood, Bronze, Bahama Blue, Bronze, Circuit Grey, Charleston Green, Forest Green, and Hunter Green. If a standard color is not what you need, you may choose to match a color. This service is available at an extra charge.

Each shutter is made to the specifications of each customer’s window measurements. We ask that you know each window’s finished sizes. Finished sizes are the actual size the shutter will need to be including the room for hinges and overlap to tie down to wall. Each shutter is Powder Coated and manufactured in our factory. There are 11 standard colors to choose from: White, Black, Ivory, Sandlewood, Bronze, Sapphire Blue, Dark Sienna, Circuit Grey, Charleston Green, Forest Green, and Hunter Green. If a standard color is not what you need you may choose to match a color. This service is available at an extra charge.
Decorative. Our Decorative Bahama is made with 2" louver blades and mounted with standard Bahama hinges. 1" build out and ceiling mount hinges are also available. The decorative Bahama shutter is great if you are trying to style up your home with shade and electric savings during the hot summers here in Florida. It also brings a sense of security to your home. These shutters are operable shutters and may be closed and locked to your window opening for minimal storm protection. This shutter is not storm rated.

- Decorative Louver. Our decorative louver is made with a 2" louver blade with no hinges or hardware. The shutter is permanently mounted to the wall for a decorative finish. This shutter does not meet any windload. It is made for decorative purposes only. The shutter will bring a old style class to your house with a new style finish of aluminum rather than wood and may be made operable if desired.
- Standard Operable Colonial. Our decorative louver is made with a 2" louver blade with hinges. The operable colonial opens and closes as you need it to. This shutter does not meet any windload. It is made for decorative purposes only. The shutter will bring a old style class to your house with a new style finish of aluminum rather than wood while bringing a touch of security if needed.
- 0.050 Riveted Backing. This Colonial is made with 2" louver blades and our 0.050 Riveted backing for storm protection. You get the fabulous look of our colonial with the added protection to your home. This shutter is storm rated and will pass Florida Building Codes.
- Deluxe Solid. This Colonial is made with a 3" solid louver blade. You have our beautiful colonial shutter with added security and the protection to your family home. This colonial is storm rated and will pass Florida Building Codes.
- Deluxe Perforated. This Colonial is made with a 3" perforated louver blade. This blade is our heaviest duty. You will have the beautiful style colonial with the needed storm protection, and a sense of security when it is locked in place. This colonial is storm rated and will pass Florida Building Codes.

Storm Rated Bahamas
- 0.050 Removable Front. Our 0.050 Removable Front Bahama is made with 2" louver blades with a 0.050 removable front and mounted with standard bahama hinges. 1" build out and ceiling mount hinges are also available. This great looking Bahama gives you everything the great style of bahama shutter with added security with storm protection. The 0.050 is easy to apply to the shutter, when needed. And it is of convenient size to store, when not needed. They are storm rated and meet Florida Building Codes
- Deluxe Perforated. Our Deluxe Perforated Bahama is our strongest most durable of the 3 style we manufacture. It is made with a 3" perforated blade. They are mounted with a standard hinge, 1" build out, or ceiling mount. This shutter has the most convenient storm protection from a bahama style shutter. They mount to your window opening with ease and when needed they tie right to the wall for optimal storm protection and security. This shutter is storm rated and Florida Building Code approved.
